Textu - real

OK, I know I talk about texture a lot but I have to share these photos from the Allen Centennial Gardens in Madison.  Since textu-real is not a recognized word - I hyphenate because that was the first word that popped into my head looking at photos I took.

This pot is especially sublime.  Go visit this garden if you can.  It's located on a small plot of land on the campus of UW-Madison.  The most has been made of that space.  Inspiring and beautiful.

This is an indulgence post.  When dead-winter is upon us, coming back to this post. I will probably get the mental and emotional boost that will be needed along about January, February and March.

That lake boathouse and the chairs in the last post - came out here.

Rooms

We moved into a house built in the 1940's.  I love it because it's old and it's in a neighborhood.  We moved from rural to a home in smaller mid-size city.  I was looking through photos we took before purchasing and taking photos of the way it is now.
Colors make a difference, so does sunshine.  I love looking at befores and afters.

           Now

There's that black linoleum floor that we uncovered with much effort - does anyone put black linoleum on their kitchen floor these days?

We are coming out of dark days, there's more light and the day is longer, through those winter days the color on the walls and all around kept me healthier (I think) both mentally and emotionally.

This is a total indulgence and just for my pleasure, if you're looking though I hope you enjoy.

Just had to put this in -- I made it and it makes me happier when I look at it!

Studio Pics

I took some photos of my studio and decided I liked them enough I would put them here. I have two of my workspace and one of the view from my second floor studio. The inside photos have all the color, not that the winter scene outside the window isn't beautiful but there are about 3 dominant colors. The blue sky, the pure white snow and the blond grasses of the field. Anyway, in summer it might be just opposite. This is a sunny day - if it was a gray day there would be one color!
