Mothers are Forever

a 'stone man'
An old Scot's Gaelic blessing
"Cuiridh mi clach air do chám"
"I'll put a stone on your cairn."

My mom and her great grand-daughter on Mother's Day, May 2010.

Lovely! What exactly does 'put a stone on your cairn' mean? What is the legend behind it. It is kind of poignant.

I think it means live long and well and here's a stone on your cairn with the hope you do . . . that's what I want it to mean.

They look so much alike in this picture, their smiles especially. So sweet.
