Snowy, Ice-cycly Wisconsin Winter

Studio pics, working on 8-harness plaited twill.  This is the second warp.  I just couldn't undo the work it took to set up the 8 harness weave so I must play some more with it.  The first warp went well, no problems.  This warp I redid once, then still had a mistake😬😬 but...fixed it by adding a homemade heddle.  Yay!!  Made my day.

Little Bluestem prairie planting getting buried by snow this year.  Love this snowy, blue-cold blanket.

My Reppweave reflected in the mirror, hanging on a brick wall next to a perfectly matched shade of green wall.  Sharing cause I love this picture and everything in it.

Some Winter, Some Work ** 2019 **

So peaceful and quiet, the rolled bales situated in the field.  A welcome November scene in my eyes.   With an optimistic hope of more to come when winter really sets in.

Christmas Day along the Mississippi River.

Out the window on New Year's Day.  A beautiful snow, softly flocking the trees.  The day turned gloriously sunny and the snow deep enough to x-c ski in.  These are the days that you just have to feast your eyes on and get firmly in your memory.  So magically beautiful.

Some winter weaving.  An 8-harness experiment.

Happy Cat pillows for Christmas.

January 2018

About mid-month we finally got some 6 inches of snow.  Yay!
Temperatures up and down in January.  Those of us who like winter were happy to see the snow even though it didn't stay around long.

Keeping warm.

Colors of the season.

Studio re-do
I love my new bright yellow counter, it cost $8 at Restore.  We debated about it, looked at everything while holding onto the $8 price tag and finally decided it couldn't get any better!
The photo below shows the bookcase cut in two and somehow it holds more!   Magic.

Viva Gallery in Viroqua, WI is having a member show in February.  The theme is "A River Runs Through It"  So many comparisons to 'a river running through it' and the thread in a weaver's world.  This is a 6-harness spaced warp design, I wanted wavy.  I think it works.

January

Blue cold is pretty, especially in on ice.

Bird wings in the snow.

This beauty, an immature Red Tail Hawk let me take his picture from all angles.

Winter Time

Snow piling up on branches of trees, short days and lit up nights.  There are no dark shadows when snow blankets all outside spaces.   Turn off inside lights and the carpet of snow lights up everything. So bright it seems there's a full moon every night.  Snowflake after magical snowflake cover the earth, so perfect and so beautiful.

Not at all sure about these colors....

Still not sure about these colors.  When it's finished - I might be able to decide ...

In my imagination I am walking this path, wearing this scarf.  When I was making this warp I kept thinking why am I using these colors.  Colors all around influence what I think and what I see and into the weaving they go.
